Originally,the island of Giens (not yet a presqu'île at that moment), looked like its direct neighbours : the islands of Hyeres ( Porquerolles, Port-Cros and The Levant island).
A natural phenomenon has been going on since 3 million years : a double tombolo. From the italian " tombolo", it is is a deposition landform in which an island is attached to the mainland by a narrow piece of land such as a spit or bar.A laguna was formed and has become Les Salins de Pesquier between the 2 landforms. Double tombolos can be counted on the fingers of one single hand on the planet.

Everything will be within reach : beaches, cutural visits ( Villa Noailles, The Queen Elizabeth museum, Olbia archeological site...), leisure ( tubbing behind a motorboat, amusement park, karting...) and sports ( water-skiing, wake-board, windsurfing, kitesurfing, snorkeling, hiking, biking...). Yet, if ever you'd like to leave anyway, go on a boat and discover the beauty of the Coasts of the Var.
If you follow the coast road, you will have access to worlwide known places such as the village of Saint-Tropez, Pampelonne beach, or the villages of Ramatuelle and Port-Grimaud.
